Do you take a deposit?
We require a 50% deposit for the reserved services, which is collected four weeks prior to the wedding. Please note that once the deposit is taken, it is non-refundable in the event of any cancellation. Additionally, if a cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event, the full amount (100%) will be charged. To secure your date, we will send you a reservation form that includes instructions for the deposit.
How long do the services take?
Service times vary, but typically average around 45 minutes to 1 hour per person. We like to dedicate extra time to the bride, so bridal hair services usually take closer to 90 minutes. All make up appointments will take around an hour. In total, hair and makeup for the bride generally require about 2.5 hours, and for bridesmaids and attendees 2 hours. If you have really long hair, or are looking for a hollywood wave, please let us know in advance so we can allow for more time. hollywood waves are quite time consuming.
Do you travel to hotels?
Yes, we do offer on-site services at hotels! While we prefer to work from our downtown Banff location, we are happy to travel to locations from Emerald Lake Lodge to Canmore. Please note that travel fees per artist apply for all on-location services, with pricing varying based on the destination. Parking fees may also be added to the invoice for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Banff Springs, The Rimrock Hotel and some locations in Canmore.
** Please note your ‘appointment reminders’ will say you have an appointment scheduled at the salon, if we have agreed to come to your hotel then we will be coming there, we just cannot change the location on our booking system**
When we’re providing on-site services, there are a few things we’ll need from you. For hair, we require adequate space in your hotel room, including a dining chair and a table near an electrical outlet. For makeup, we need a space with natural light, ideally by a window, along with a table and an electrical outlet for a ring light if necessary. It’s also helpful if you can arrange for a bar stool to be brought to the room if one isn’t already available.
How far in advance should I finish before my ceremony starts?
We suggest having your hair and make-up services finished at least 1 hour before your ceremony time! This gives you the time to get some pictures, travel to ceremony location etc.
Do I have to bring anything for hair and makeup?
We provide all the essentials, including pins, hair products and makeup. The only items we don’t supply are extensions, veils, and decorative pins, so please be sure to bring those with you. If you have specific products you'd prefer us to use, feel free to bring them. Additionally, if you have any allergies, please bring any products you're confident are safe for you.
If you are planning to use hair extensions, please have them prewashed and dried for us before we start! If they are brand new, they have a film on them which means they will not curl, equally if they are dirty they won’t hold a curl!
Are the prices subject to increase?
Quoted prices are subject to change on the day! E.g. if you booked for a blowout but leave with an updo or if you didn’t book lashes but decide to get them on the day, this will be reflected on your final invoice after services are completed.
Please note, we allocate a specific amount of time for each service. We kindly ask that everyone is ready to go when we arrive if the services are being completed onsite. If this time is exceeded due to tardiness or disruptions from the bride or bridal party, additional charges may apply. Sometimes we may be moving ahead of schedule so promptness is appreciated.
Should I follow the schedule that I see booked within the salon booking system or create my own?
We don’t create a strict schedule within our booking system; all requested services are added, but not in a specific order. Aside from the bride’s hair appointment, which is scheduled for 90 minutes, most services are allotted 45-60 minutes each. We kindly ask that everyone be ready for their 45-minute time slots to ensure the day runs smoothly. Please note that lateness or reluctance to go first can disrupt the overall schedule. If you (the bride) are planning to have a first look, please let us know and we can make sure your services are completed in time for this! Please discuss who wishes to be ready first and send people in our direction!
When should I book my trial?
We recommend scheduling your trial close to your wedding day, ideally 10 days to 2 weeks before. However, if you're 'shopping around' or live farther away, you're welcome to book earlier.
The purpose of a trial is to explore different looks. For hair, we provide a 2-hour appointment to experiment with 2-3 styles, and for makeup, a 1.5-hour session. Please bring inspiration images for both hair and makeup to your trial. If you plan to wear extensions, a veil, or any hair accessories, be sure to bring those along as well. Keep in mind that the look on your trial day may differ slightly from the final look—after all, we’re humans, not photocopiers.
How should we prepare our hair and skin for the appointments?
CLEAN, DRY hair!
Please arrive for the morning with clean, 100% dry hair that has been brushed through. You know your hair better than us, depending on your hair type please wash the day before or the morning of! Hair should be no longer than 1 day old! This is very important! Greasy hair does not style well, and using hot tools on dirty hair can cause damage! If your hair is not 100% dry an additional fee may be applied! If we are doing a brush blow out, please arrive with damp towel dried freshly washed hair! If we are working with your natural curl, please diffuse or airdry in the same time frame. To prevent any crease lines in your hair, please do not arrive wearing any braids pony’s or buns!
Please use minimal product in your hair after it is freshly washed, we request only heat protection or lightweight anti-frizz should you need it! We will take care of the rest of the products during your appointments!
For make-up, please arrive with no make-up, only apply moisturiser and lip balm! Be sure to have upped your skin care regime at home a month before the wedding! And make sure you are drinking lots of water!
